Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for various positions in Wainwright!

Types of available positions:

Community Disability Workers – you will provide high quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities who live in a residential setting. Motivated, compassionate and organized, you will enthusiastically assist by providing residential supports while promoting dignity, independence and empowerment.  Open to learning new things, you will teach independent living skills, provide companionship, support behavioral challenges, provide personal care, and implement programs tailored to individual needs.  You will be required to accompany individuals on outings and engage in activities supporting their interests as well as their well-being.  You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team.  You have great relationship building skills and are proficient with computers.

Hours of work are based on the needs of the individual, therefore, shifts may vary and include days, evenings, and weekends.

Children’s Outreach Workers – you will provide supports to families and children with disabilities. Important aspects of this position are to provide one-to-one support for children with disabilities, parental support, and to assist with family empowerment. Skill building and recreational activities are also important components of this satisfying position. The successful candidates must have the ability to work independently with children with a variety of disabilities as well as be part of a team.

Please note, work schedule may include days, evenings, or weekend hours as determined by the support needs of the children/families.

Family Outreach Workers – you will provide family support services to strengthen the efforts and abilities of the family to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children. As a Family Outreach Worker, you will provide high quality supports to children and families as well as act as a mentor. You are self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working both independently and part of a service team. You are organized, have great relationship building skills, and are proficient with computers.

Please note, travel is required for this position and work schedule may include days, evenings, or weekend hours as determined by the needs of the program.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education (education in Human Services is considered an asset)
  • Relevant experience will be considered an asset
  • Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or City Police detachment
  • Child Intervention Record Check
  • Standard First Aid Certification is considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle (with two million dollars liability insurance)
  • Clear and current driver’s abstract
