Wainwright & District Family & Community Support Services is seeking a part-time Community Coordinator

Do you have a passion for working with people, connecting with community, a creative flare for planning special events and you are enthusiastic and self-motivated?

As the successful candidate you will have:

  •  A post-secondary degree or diploma in a Human Service discipline
  • Experience or ability to plan, implement, and evaluate preventive social programs in response to community needs that enhance the well-being of youth, adults, seniors and families
  • An understanding of the importance for advocacy, equality and inclusivity for community members
  • Provide one on one support & navigation assisting individuals identify needs, goals, and information and referral to community resources
  • Awareness of local and provincial organizations, resources and supports
  •  Network & partner with agencies, organizations and groups
  • Attend meetings and community events representing WDFCSS
  • The initiative to work both collaboratively and with a minimum of supervision
  • Computer proficiency, social media fluency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in performing general office duties
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (rural travel is required)
  • Valid RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check
  • Valid Child Intervention Check

This is a part-time position; 21 hours per week
